Chef/owner Sergio Salamonovitz and his partner Shauna opened Trafiq on Main Street in June 2011, after having operated a Trafiq Café in West Vancouver since 2006. We merged Sergio’s former cake bakery with the West Van café concept and now run a bustling café & bakery on Main Street.
Obsession with Technique
Sergio fell in love with the science of baking and was formally trained in Houston, Texas by Belgian pastry chef, Eddy Van Damme. To this day, Sergio adheres to establishing well honed techniques in baking and cooking. Only then, can you play. We believe in hands on experience plus an eager willingness to continue learning.

Peak inside our bakery windows; we have a dedicated professional team whisking up sumptuous creations. Out front, Shauna and Diane Lawrence lead a friendly and efficient hospitality crew. After seven years, we’ve watched little babes grow up in front of our very eyes; now they’re countertop height!
Space & Locale
Our space is open and airy with banquette and table seating, authentic French bistro chairs and window seats. Our fantastic neighbourhood, Riley Park is energizing with unique shops and a friendly village vibe.
